Door & Window Installation in Summit County

Door and window installation that seals tight — what mountain winters demand of every opening — in Silverthorne and all around it.

At 9,000 feet, a badly installed door introduces itself in January. Cold finds the gap under the threshold, wind off the reservoir finds the window that was hung out of square, and the heating bill reports all of it. We install doors and windows across Summit and Grand County — entry doors, interior doors, patio and French doors, new windows and replacements — and the point of the work is the seal: square, plumb, insulated, flashed and finished so the mountain stays outside. Silverthorne, Dillon, Breckenridge, Frisco, Keystone, Winter Park, Granby — every one of those towns has winters that grade the installation, not the brochure. Free quote in English or Spanish.

What's included

Installation is where the money you spent on a good window is kept or lost. We set the frame square and plumb, insulate the gap between frame and framing — foamed, not stuffed — flash and seal against melt water, and finish the trim inside and out. Much of the housing in Dillon Valley, Wildernest and the older condo buildings dates to the 80s and 90s, and those original windows are past their winters: drafts, frost on the inside glass, fog trapped between the panes. Doors get the same care — thresholds set for snow at the sill, weatherstripping that still seals in February, hardware that works with gloves on. If a door sticks every winter, that is a symptom; we fix the cause.

Doors & Windows by city

The high country is not one market — a Breckenridge ski condo, a Silverthorne family home and a Granby ranch house are three different remodels, with three different winters.

Common questions

Can windows be replaced in winter?
Yes — each window comes out and goes in one opening at a time, so a room stands open for minutes, not hours. If a project can wait for warmer months, sealants cure better in them, and the free quote will tell you that honestly.
Why does my door only stick in winter?
Wood and framing move as temperatures swing, and a door installed without room for that movement binds when the cold arrives. Planing the edge treats the symptom; setting the frame and hinges right treats the cause.
How do I know a window needs replacing instead of repair?
Drafts you can feel, frost or condensation on the inside face, fog sealed between the panes, or sashes that no longer close tight — any of those says the window is done. Send photos by WhatsApp and we will tell you which side of the line yours is on.
